This year two engineering professionals visited MSOE to talk about their experience at their jobs. Both speakers recently started their careers and offered their perspectives about their transitions from college students to working professionals.
Students from Hamilton High visited MSOE to work in two groups and build a bridge to compete against each other, and build the best bridge that could hold the most weight. The two teams created bridges using only the materials given. The students used math and physics to attempt to create the best bridge. After the students had lunch with engineering students from MSOE, and had a chance to ask questions.
8th grade students from La Causa school visited MSOE in the spring to tour the school, and get a sense of what college is like. At MSOE the 8th grade students visited the Bio Molecular Engineering Lab, an Architectural Engineering Lab, and a Software Engineering Lab where they did 30 minute projects to work in the labs.
